All creation has the promise of heaven

“All creation has the promise of heaven, and still you travel the road to hell” – and Ronan is completely right.

Creation involves a lot of doubts, no-sleeping and worries, especially if you are an awful perfectionist. But I really have no reason to complain: I stepped over my own boundaries and am finally writing a book – like I should have done years ago. My “partner in crime” is Emke. Yeah, not the usual thing to publish a novel written by two authors, but trust me: we can’t even always tell ourselves which part was written by who. ”But then who wrote this??” – we ask, and laugh. Seems like the book is writing itself!  (And yet on the other hand there are some obvious stylistic trademarks, when we sit on the bed and scream out laughing: “You wrote this!!” Haha.)

It’s the last phase of the process we are going through, and Friday is the deadline to hand in the manuscript for the Publisher (this may change through because he wants it to be published by Book Week which is in April, but have promotional chapters published in a literary magazine first). Don’t yet ask what it’s about. You will know in time. :) It illuminates a tremendous amount of things, yet we want to keep the structure simple and organized.

Sometimes it feels like it’s a marvellous piece of work, and sometimes I’m ashamed of it, thinking it’s not worth a penny. Asked a “real writer” about these feelings, and he said it’s very normal and that’s the way it is, always. And sometimes I re-read what I wrote and ask myself: “Where did this come from?” – and I’m amazed, because never before did I see these questions and answers – and their possible verbal solution – inside myself.. This whole process of creation is a very intimate and personal journey. It gave me answers for a lot of questions.
